I fell in love with Polenta from the first time I ate it. We can say it was “love at first bite”.
A month ago, a friend came to visit and we spoke about how much we love Polenta.
That was it, I went to buy a bag and found out how to prepare it. The cravings were too much!
I bought my first bag in the super market, checked on the internet how to make it and just couldn’t believe how fast and easy it was! (And tasty… did I mention that?)

Polenta is cornmeal and it has been celebrated in all types of cuisine – most noted for its versatility.

Polenta is a low carbohydrate food rich in vitamin A and C. Its level of beta-carotene has health benefits such as cancer and heart disease prevention.
Uncooked polenta makes a delicious addition or gluten-free alternative to flour in cakes, biscuits and pastries.

Polenta can be found in several recipes, including soups, desserts, entrees, casseroles and sauces.
Polenta is a great dish that goes with breakfast, lunch and dinner; it can be served hot or cold, soft or hard, making it one of the most versatile foods.
Since polenta is gluten free it can easily replace wheat based meals.

Preparation (Pre-cooked from any super market):

Boil water, add salt and spices and then add the polenta while mixing until it thickens (About 2 minutes) – 1 portion of polenta per 3 of boiling water.

Yes, that’s it! One suggestion, prepare  it right before you eat it for better consistency 😉

Give it a try! As I read somewhere: “polenta is an elegant, versatile and tasty way to improve your cooking”
