Even today, people would look at me and ask “Whaaat?!” (Including a shocked face) when I tell them that my favorite food in the whole world is cucumber. What?! Yes, cucumber. As simple as that.
Since I can remember, it has always been what I like to eat the most… And lucky me, they are the fourth most cultivated vegetable in the world (Yay!).
A few days ago, one of my best friends sent me an article about cucumbers benefits, just because she knows how much I love it. To be honest, I had no idea how healthy cucumbers are!

Cucumbers are known to be one of the best foods for your body’s overall health.

Cucumbers are a good source of B vitamins, copper, potassium, vitamin C & K, manganese and have most of the vitamins the body needs in a single day (Leave the skin on because it contains a good amount of vitamin C). Cucumbers re-hydrate the body (they are 95 percent water) while helping it eliminate toxins.
Cucumbers’ vitamins are known to help ease feelings of anxiety and buffer some of the damaging effects of stress. Because that is not enough, cucumbers are also known to contain three lignans with a strong history of research in connection with reduced risk of several cancer types, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer and prostate cancer.

Cucumbers relieve bad breath (Take a slice and press it to the roof of your mouth for 30 seconds, it will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath) and help to avoid morning hangovers or headaches. Due to its high amount of water and dietary fiber, cucumbers become a remedy for chronic constipation and they’re known for helping to cure diabetes, controlling blood pressure and reducing cholesterol.

You can eat cucumber in salads, juice it with other veggies (http://on.fb.me/1A3ZHWj), try it in the amazing Gazpacho (Spanish cold soup), drink water with cucumber slices, etc.

Is there anything left to say?
Yes.
Cucumber, we love you!
